Enrollment Policy
The overwhelming interest in our program has required us to close our wait list and review our enrollment policy.
We are pleased to report that we have filled all of our spots for the 2010-2011 school year from the current wait list. We are taking this opportunity to update you on our new enrollment policy.
Our school board has decided to put the below enrollment process into effect for the 2011-2012 year:
Moonstone will be moving from a running wait list to an annual application process with a lottery.
The application period will open October 1, 2010 and close December 31, 2010.
We will not accept any applications prior to or following this application period.
Enrollment packets and applications will be available from the school August 2010.
The lottery drawing will be held in March. All applicants will be notified of the lottery results by postcard in April.
Those currently on the wait list will be offered spots prior to lottery applicants for the 2011-2012 school year.
If any spots become available mid-year, the list created from the drawing will be used to fill them.
We will continue to use the wait list applicants and the lottery applicants to fill spots until March 2012.
From 2012 forward, Moonstone will ONLY use the new annual application process with a lottery.
The enrollment process will continue to give preference to siblings of currently enrolled students.
Moonstone will reserve a certain number of spots for children who receive subsidy (all interested families must be pre-approved and able to show this on the application).
Instead of offering individual tours, Moonstone will hold an annual Open House. Individual tours may be given once a spot is offered.
Moonstone’s Open House this year will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Wait List Parents
To be sensitive to the interest and patience shown by families on the current wait list, we will offer spots to those already on our wait list prior to lottery applicants.
This preference will only occur for the 2011-2012 enrollment.
You must fill out our new included application to update your information and remain on the list (your wait date will remain the same).
Check-ins are no longer required once your application is submitted.
Your completed application needs to be submitted by the deadline of December 31, 2010.
NO application fee will be required.
If your new application is NOT received, Moonstone will assume that you are NO longer interested and you will be removed from the current wait list
families that do not receive a spot and are still interested, must reapply for the following year through the new enrollment process
Interested Parents
If you are interested in applying to Moonstone, you must contact us to receive an Enrollment Packet with an application (available in August).
A $50 non-refundable application fee will be required for processing.
Any application received without an attached payment or outside of the application period, will NOT be considered.
All applicants must be age eligible for the year they are applying (18 months or older by September 1).
Any spots still available after filling from the wait list, will be filled with new lottery applicants.
Families that do not receive a spot and are still interested, must reapply for the following year through the new enrollment process
Current Parents
The enrollment process will continue to use sibling preference. Nothing is required on your part. Siblings are automatically added to the sibling list once they are born. We are aware that there is a lot of talk at the playground regarding enrollment and we appreciate your help relaying accurate information about Moonstone.
More enrollment information will be provided in the Enrollment Packet, which will be available in August 2010.
